Medication Policies
Please find below the school’s Medication policy.
This is strictly as per the guidelines provided by the Dubai healthauthority.
The dispensing of medication during school hours is to be regulated and under the supervision of the school doctor or the school nurse, adhering to the following procedures:
1. If your child needs to take any medication during the school time, written authorization must be provided by the parent / guardian supported with the prescription of the consulting doctor. The medications including the refills submitted to the School clinic must be in its original labeled container along with the prescription which is carefully labelled with the student’s name, required dose and route of administration.
2. No student is allowed to carry medicine into the class under any circumstances. If your child needs to take any medication during school hours, please submit/bring the medicine to the clinic. The medicine should be submitted to the school clinic by the parent / guardian along with the prescription of the consulting doctor.
3. If your child requires an inhaler for treatment of asthma, please ensure that they carry their inhaler with them. You may wish to leave a spare inhaler with the school clinic as a backup. You need to inform to the school clinic about this if your child using the same in the class room, it must be send along with the prescription and medical certificate by the treating doctor which is carefully labelled with the student’s name, required dose.
4. All the medications should be sent to the School clinic & will be kept locked, including medications requiring refrigeration.
5. It is important to note that any medication provided to the school clinic must be licensed in U.A.E.
6. In addition to the above, students needing medication during field trip activity must have the medication in an original container along with the prescription which is carefully labelled with the student’s name, required dose and route of administration. Parents are requested to send a note when they submitted the consent form for accepting any field trip for their child.
7. Any medication left over at the end of school year must be picked up on the last working day of school from the School clinic by a parent / guardian. Dhruv Global School Parents are requested to inform the school clinic by mail (clinic@cornflowerblue-guanaco-949129.hostingersite.com) pertaining to medication of their child arise. 8. For children suffering from chronic illness such as Convulsion, bronchial asthma, diabetes, nephrotic syndrome and heart diseases etc… The parents are requested to (report it to the school clinic) and submit a medical report.
9. If a student has any allergic conditions like rhinitis parents should inform the school clinic and submit the medical report in order to avoid confusion with Flu symptoms. If your child has any kind of allergies to food, medicine etc. Please to inform the school clinic.
10. All emergency medications should be submitted only to the school clinic along with the prescription which is carefully labelled with the student’s name, required dose and route of administration.
11. The Dubai Health Authority has clearly documented guidelines for communicable diseases which require exclusion from the school, for example COVID19, conjunctivitis and chickenpox, etc.
12. Children with a temperature from 37.50c should take rest at home. In case of fever or any discomfort during School hours, the parents should be informed about it and advised to take the student home.
